X5 Squash Open: Tournament Preview

8 December 2021

The second event to take place in the Americas this week comes from Sao Paulo, as Delta Tennis & Sports plays host to the Challenger 3 level X5 Squash Open over the next four days.

The tournament is the third to be held on Brazilian soil in quick succession, after a break of over three years without the nation hosting a Challenger Tour tournament.

The X5 Squash Open will feature a 16-man field, with Diego Gobbi as the tournament’s top seed. His nearest competitor in terms of ranking is England’s Hassan Khalil, while Matheus Carbonieri and Pedro Mometto will make up the rest of the top four seeds.

Yuri Pollak and Junior Christovam will also be amongst the seeded players in Sao Paulo this week, with the Argentinian duo of Miguel Pujol and Lisandro Ortiz also in that bracket.

The event takes place from Thursday 9 to Sunday 12 December at Delta Tennis & Sports in Sao Paulo. Follow the PSA Challenger Tour on Twitter and Facebook for daily updates from the event.
