Torneo Profesional Mexicano de Squash: Tournament Preview

17 August 2022

The final event of the week on the Challenger Tour will be the Torneo Profesional Mexicano de Squash, which will take place from Thursday, August 18 to Sunday, August 21 at the Pro Squash Polanco in the Mexican capital, the Ciudad de Mexico.

The tournament will feature a Challenger 10 level men’s draw, which will see 24 players aim for glory. The Mexican duo of Arturo Salazar and Alfredo Avila, who met in the finals of the HSC Open – presented by Cotidie and the Life Time Optimus BT Johns Creek Open in July, will be the top two seeds this week on home soil.

Brazil’s Guilherme Melo and the Guatemalan duo of Alejandro Enriquez and Ricardo Toscano will join the Mexican trio of Alejandro Reyes, Miled Zarazua and Allan Nunez in rounding out the top eight seeds for the four-day competition.

Pakistan’s Abdul Malik Khan and Egypt’s Abdelaziz Hegazy will be the only two players in the draw not hailing from either North, South or Central America, while Argentina’s Jeremias Azana will be his nation’s lone representative.

The event takes place from Thursday, August 18 to Sunday, August 21 at the Pro Squash Polanco in the Ciudad de Mexico. Follow the PSA Challenger Tour on Twitter and Facebook for daily updates from the event.
