Three Europeans Withdraw From El Gouna International

The European trio of Julianne Courtice, Mathieu Castagnet and James Willstrop have all withdrawn from the upcoming El Gouna International Squash Open, which takes place from Thursday 20 to Friday 28 May.

Greg Lobban will now receive a bye through to the second round, replacing Willstrop in the 9/16 seeding bracket. George Parker then takes Lobban’s place, with Bernat Jaume coming into the draw to face compatriot Iker Pajares Bernabeu on the opening day.

Castagnet is replaced in the 17/32 seeding bracket by compatriot Victor Crouin, with Egypt’s Mazen Gamal taking his place in the tournament.

In the women’s draw, USA’s Haley Mendez moves to take Courtice’s spot in the draw, where she will play Frenchwoman Enora Villard, with Switzerland’s Nadia Pfister coming into the draw, where she will face South African No.1 Alexandra Fuller on the opening day.
