SquashBerek Open: Balazs & Chukwu Victorious

14 March 2021

Top seeds Farkas Balazs and Hannah Chukwu have emerged victorious at the SquashBerek Open, after convincing wins in their respective finals.

The event was the first to be held in Hungary in over a decade, and was restricted to only domestic entrants due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, like all Challenger Tour events on right now.

Chukwu was the top seed for the women’s tournament, and she came through all four matches without dropping a game, spending just 92 minutes on court across the whole event.

She got the better of Borbala Filyo in the first round, before wins against Rita Dohany and Sara Nagy put the Hungarian No.1 into the final. The 17-year-old then defeated Csenge Kiss-Mate in the final to secure her first title on Tour.

In the men’s draw, top seed Farkas Balazs also came through his four matches in the tournament without dropping a single game, culminating in a victory over Benedek Takacs in the final.
