Squash Quebec Open: Baillargeon Claims Second Title In Two Weeks

The Squash Quebec Open came to its conclusion on Thursday evening in Montreal, with David Baillargeon securing a second victory in as many tournaments by beating Nick Sachvie in the final.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Challenger 5 tournament was held with domestic restrictions, allowing only those currently living in Canada to enter.

Baillargeon, the World No.78, took the victory at the Colombian Open in Bogota in his last event, and he came into this tournament as the No.2 seed at Club Atwater in Montreal.

After receiving a bye through to the second round, the Canadian beat wildcard Abbas Nawaz before then getting the better of Graeme Schnell in the quarter-finals.

The Canadian downed compatriot, and No.2 seed, Michael McCue to make it into the final, where he then defeated No.4 seed Nick Sachvie in straight games to claim his second title in as many tournaments.
