Regatas Resistencia Open SF: Colombians Palomino And Bautista To Meet

The Colombian duo of Ronald Palomino and Edgar Ramirez Bautista will meet in the final of the PSA Regatas Resistencia Open in Argentina, after getting the better of Andres Herrera and Valentin Rapp, respectively.

Palomino, the top seed for the Challenger 10 level competition, came up against fellow Colombian Andres Herrera, the No.7 seed, in the semi-finals on Friday afternoon. The pair were level after two games, but the World No.82 was able to fight through, winning the last two games, dropping just eight points across them.

The Colombian will now face compatriot Edgar Ramirez Bautista in the final on Saturday, after the tournament’s No.4 seed got the better of No.2 seed Valentin Rapp in an 83-minute, five-game battle. Bautista led twice in the contest, only to see the German fight back on both occasions. It went to a decider, and that itself went to a tie-break, with Bautista taking it 13-11 to book his spot in the final.

The final of the PSA Regatas Resistencia Open will see Edgar Ramirez Bautista and Ronald Palomino face off, and will take place on Saturday, June 4, and the action will be streamed live on the PSA Challenger Tour YouTube channel.
