Regatas Resistencia Open Preview: Rapp Looking Forward To Competition

30 May 2022

The PSA Regatas Resistencia Open – 10th Edition will be the first tournament on the Challenger Tour this week, with the action coming from the Club Regatas Resistencia in Argentina from Tuesday, May 31 to Saturday, June 4.

The Challenger 10 level event is the biggest of the week on Tour, and will feature players from nine nations, with the majority of those coming from either North, Central or South America.

Colombia’s Ronald Palomino will be the top seed for the competition, with the World No.80 also having compatriot Edgar Ramirez Bautista for company among the top four seeds. They will be joined by Brazil’s Guilherme Melo and German Valentin Rapp. We spoke to the German prior to the tournament getting underway.

“I haven’t had a competition for four weeks before the tournament in Resistencia. So I had a few good weeks of training. I’m looking forward to some good matches and hopefully I can play as many as possible,” Rapp said.

Along with Rapp, there wil be two other Europeans in action, with Belgium’s Joeri Hapers and Czech Republic’s Petr Nohel both in the draw. USA’s Andrew Douglas, Mexican Carlos Vargas and Paraguay’s Francesco Marcantonio will all be their nation’s lone representative in the competition.

The event takes place from Tuesday, May 31 to Saturday, June 4 at the Club Regaatas Resistencia in Argentina. Follow the PSA Challenger Tour on *Twitter* and *Facebook* for daily updates from the event.
