Qscan Sandgate Open: Tournament Preview

The last of three tournaments taking place on the Challenger Tour this week will be the Qscan Sandgate Open, which will be held at the Sandgate Squash Club from Friday, May 6 to Monday, May 9.

Home favourites Jessica Turnbull and Tamika Hunt will be the top two seeds for the Challenger 10 level women’s tournament, with the pair aiming to take home more glory on Australian soil, and in front of an adoring home crowd. Another Aussie, in Sarah Cardwell, will also be among the top four seeds.

There will be plenty of Malaysian interest in the tournament in Deagon, with four of the seeded eight players hailing from the Asian nation. Yee Xin Yang, Ainaa Amani, Aira Azman and Sehveetrraa Kumar will all be in action, along with Japan’s Satomi Watanabe.
