Number five seed Daniel Poleshchuk came up with a sumptuous performance to down Australia’s Matthew Hopkin in straight games to capture the LOC Charing Cross Classic, PSA M5 title.

The 19-year-old earned his spot in the final courtesy of a titanic 3-2 triumph over top seed James Earles in the previous round while Hopkin claimed a 3-1 victory against Geoffrey Demont to seal his final berth.

Despite his lengthy battle the day before, Poleshchuk came out all guns blazing as he sought to take the initiative in the opening stages. A flurry of attacking shots enabled the young Israeli to pull away from Hopkin as he rose to an 11-7 victory in game one.

The second game saw much of the same as Poleshchuk moved his opponent into all four corners of the court. A number of sublime drops helped the three-time Israeli U19 champion to build up yet another lead as he doubled his advantage.

A resilient Hopkin came back into the match in the third as he fought to gain a foothold in the encounter. However, Poleshchuk remained strong to close out an 11-7, 11-7, 12-10 victory, becoming the first ever Israeli to claim two PSA World Tour titles.
