PAC Squash Open: Tournament Preview

30 November 2021

The PAC Squash Open takes place this week at Paissandu Atlético Clube in Rio de Janiero, Brazil, with the Challenger 10 level tournament featuring players from seven nationalities.

The tournament is being run with regional restrictions on entrants due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, with only those currently based in either North, Central or South American being permitted to play in the tournament.

Colombia’s Edgar Ramirez Bautista will be the top seed, with the World No.129 facing competition from the Brazilian pair of Guilherme Melo and Diego Gobbi.

England’s Hassan Khalil, Guatemala’s Ricardo Toscano, Colombia’s Andres Villamizar, Paraguayan Francesco Marcantonio and Mexico’s Bryan Cueto will make up the rest of the top eight seeds at the event.

The other player who does not hail from the Americas will be Frenchman Vincent Droesbeke, with the Frenchman being one of the wildcards for the Challenger 10 level tournament.

The event takes place from Wednesday 1 to Sunday 5 December at the Paissandu Atlético Clube in Rio de Janeiro. Follow the PSA Challenger Tour on Twitter and Facebook for daily updates from the event.
