Marauding Malaysian Tour Matchups Ahead

The main draw stages of the Malaysian Tour Squash VII, PSA M5 & W5 events get underway on Wednesday September 9 with another exciting instalment of the 2015 series gearing up for more electric action.

James Huang is seeded first for the Men’s event and is looking to improve on his recent runner-up finish last time out on the Malaysian Tour.

The 30-year-old from Taiwan lost out to Ivan Yuen in the final and is still looking for his first PSA World Tour title despite reaching four finals in his career.

Huang begins his quest for the crown against Ahsan Ayaz in the opening round as he looks to build up some early momentum ahead of the latter stages.

Sanjay Singh Chal is competing on home soil and is another one of the forerunners for the title after reaching the semi-final stage of the Malaysian Tour Squash VI last month.

He goes up against compatriot Mohd Syafiq Kamal in round one but it could prove to be a tough fixture given that Hannan also reached the final four last time on the Malaysian Tour.

Nathan Lake advanced to the final of the Grand Sport Armenian Challenger on his last PSA World Tour appearance and makes his debut on the Malaysian Tour.

Cheltenham-born Lake, who has lifted two PSA World Tour titles in 2015, will meet Chi Him Wong for a place in the quarter-final.

Coline Aumard heads the field in the Women’s event with the Frenchwoman still searching for her first PSA World Tour title of the year.

With a semi-final finish at the 42nd Geneva Open back in March serving to be the highlight of her year so far, Aumard will be aiming to go further this time out and receives a bye into the next round.

Rachel Arnold has appeared at every iteration of the 2015 Malaysian Tour thus far and is the number two seed heading into this tournament.

The World No.64 made it to the final of the Malaysian Tour Squash V two months ago but met her match against Tong Tsz-Wing. Arnold also benefits from a bye into the quarter-final where she will face one of Zulhijjah Binti Azan or Lai Wen Li.
