Lust Withdraws From Women’s World Championships Through Injury

England’s Victoria Lust has pulled out of the CIB PSA Women’s World Championship 2019-2020 in Cairo due to an ankle injury.

The Englishwoman was seeded No.12 for the tournament, which will take place in front of the Great Pyramids of Giza between October 24-November 1.

Lust’s withdrawal from the event sees those players seeded below the Englishwoman to move up a spot, with Egypt’s Nada Abbas becoming the No.32 seed.

Joey Chan has now moved into the top 16 seeds, and she replaces Lust in the draw. The Hong Kong No.2 will now face Malaysian youngster Aifa Azman in the first round.

Abbas, who is now the No.32 seed, will replace Chan in the draw and now faces South Africa’s Milnay Louw, with the vacant place in the draw being taken up by Canada’s Nicole Bunyan, who will face World No.9 Tesni Evans in the first round.
