Lockerbie Challenge: Wall Takes Fourth Crown Of 2021

In an all-English final at the Lockerbie Challenge, it was Nick Wall who took the victory, his fourth of the year, as he defeated compatriot Curtis Malik in a five-game battle in the final.

The Challenger 5 level tournament at Lockerbie Squash Club saw players from just four nations in action, with the majority hailing from either England or Scotland, while the Indian pair of Aadit Zaveri and Abhay Singh also took part.

Wall was the top seed for the tournament, and he received a bye through the opening round, where he then got the better of compatriot James Wilkinson in straight games.

The Englishman defeated another compatriot, in Lewis Doughty, and India’s Aadit Zaveri, to make it through to the final of the tournament, beating the pair of them 3-0 to continue his good run through the event.

Wall came up against another Englishman, in Curtis Malik, the tournament’s No.2 seed, in the final, and he found himself behind after three games. However, he was able to fight back to win both the fourth and fifth games to secure yet another victory on Tour in 2021.
