Life Time Atlanta Open RD1: Seeds Through In Opening Round

The opening day of the Life Time Atlanta Open took place on Wednesday evening at Life Time Athletic Sandy Springs, with all eight of the players in the 9/16 seeding bracket making their way through to the second round of the Challenger 10 level competition.

Players from seven different nationalities made their way into the last 16 in Atlanta, with Colombia’s Andres Herrera and Matias Knudsen as the only duo from the same country to advance. Both overcame Americans, with Herrera downing Santiago Bargagna, while Knudsen defeated Wajiullah Nasim.

Elsewhere, Germany’s Tobias Weggen, Pakistan’s Hamza Khan and Mexico’s Miled Zarazua all made it through to the second round of the tournament, with the latter moving through to face top seed Abdulla Mohd Al Tamimi, the Qatari No.1, in the last 16.

The second round of the Life Time Atlanta Open will take place on Thursday, April 21, with the seeded players coming into the draw and starting off their campaigns at the Life Time Athletic Sandy Springs.
