2 June 2022

The final tournament of the week on the Challenger Tour this week will be the HydroBlasting Kalgoorlie Golden Open, which will be played at the Ray Finlayson Sporting Club from Friday, June 3 to Sunday, June 5.

The Challenger 3 level tournament will feature both a men’s and women’s draw, with 24 players aiming to take home the titles come Sunday afternoon, the majority of those in action hailing from host nation Australia.

Six of the eight seeds in the men’s draw will be playing on home soil, with World No.186 Rhys Dowling leading the way as the top seed. He will be joined by Mike Corren, who has 52 Tour titles to his name, Nicholas Calvert and Damon Macmillan among the top four seeds for the competition.

India’s Jaideep Singh Sethi, the Sri Lankan duo of Ravindu Laksiri and Shamil Wakeel and Singapore’s Jerome Aw will be the non-Australian players in action in the men’s event, with the former two both seeded.

England’s Tayla Mounter leads the way in the women’s draw, as the only European in action for the tournament. She will be joined in the top four seeds by the Australian trio of Erin Classen, Sophie Fadaely and Pascale Louka. Singapore’s Swetha Sivakumar, Au Yeong Wai Iynn and Joannah Yue make up the rest of the non-Australians in the women’s event.
