Houston Open Final: The Stats and How to Watch Live

The final of the Houston Open takes place at the Houston Squash Club today from 16:00 (GMT-6) as World No.1 Ali Farag and his fellow Egyptian Mazen Hesham lock horns in the first PSA World Tour final of 2022.

Farag and Hesham will meet for the 10th time on the PSA Tour, with the head-to-head record currently sitting overwhelmingly in Farag’s favour. The reigning World Champion has prevailed in eight of their previous nine PSA matches.

Farag has won their last six fixtures without defeat, with their most recent match coming at the 2021 U.S. Open, which Farag won 3-1 in October of last year in Philadelphia.

It will be the first time that Farag and Hesham have contested a PSA final. In fact, it will be a first final appearance for Hesham since the 2015 Houston Open, where he beat England’s Adrian Grant to capture his seventh PSA Tour title.

Since that time, Farag has competed in 37 PSA finals (winning 17 of them) and he will look to win the 25th PSA title of his career today in Houston.

Hesham ,though, has shown some of his best ever form at this tournament and claimed a major upset against Marwan ElShorbagy – a player who Farag frequently struggles against – earlier in the tournament, meaning he has every chance of walking away from this tournament with his first Gold level trophy.
