Five Players Withdraw From El Gouna International

The Malaysian quartet of Low Wee Wern, Rachel Arnold, Aifa Azman and Ivan Yuen have had to withdraw from the upcoming El Gouna International Squash Open due to increased travel restrictions, while England’s Richie Fallows has also pulled out of the event.

Their withdrawals mean that five players come into the draw for the Platinum event which begins on Thursday May 20. In the men’s draw, France’s Auguste Dussourd replaces Ivan Yuen, and will face compatriot Mathieu Castagnet in the first round. Another Frenchman, in Sebastien Bonmalais, takes Fallows’ place and will face Egypt’s Mohamed ElSherbini on the opening day.

In the women’s event, Mayar Hany replaces Low Wee Wern in the 17/32 seeing bracket, and will now face Czech Republic’s Anna Serme. Dutch No.2 Tessa ter Sluis replaces Rachel Arnold and plays Zeina Mickawy, while Egypt’s Hana Moataz replaces Aifa Azman and will face Canadian No.1 Hollie Naughton.
