Eysele through to Sutton Coldfield main draw

Top seeded qualifier Tristan Eysele has made it safely through to the main draw of the Sutton Coldfield International 2015 with a 3-1 win over Phil Nightingale.

In spite of a late night five-setter in the opening qualifying round, Eysele started the match well, using angles and the boast to twist and turn Nightingale.

Nightingale tightened up and lengthened the rallies and used the straight drop well in the second game to take it 13-11 but Eysele turned up the heat in the third and fourth games to see out the match.

Kevin Moran joined Eysele in the main draw after winning a five-setter with Joeri Haper. The match was played at a furious pace before Hapers began to tire in the fourth as Moran’s hold and touch paid dividends. Moran’s reward is a first-round tie with top seed Chris Fuller.

Ondrej Uherka is also through after beating Jamie Henderson in four while Patrick Rooney came from a game down to see off Owain Taylor.
