DHA Islamabad Championship SF: Unseeded Zaman To Meet Top Seed In Final

29 March 2022

Unseeded Noor Zaman continued his incredible run at the DHA Islamabad International Squash Championship, as he got the better of yet another higher-ranked player to make it through to the final.

The Challenger 10 level tournament is being played at the JFC Squash Courts in the Pakistani city, and Zaman took on No.4 seed, and the sole non-Pakistani player left in the semi-finals, Malaysia’s Addeen Idrakie, for a place in Wednesday’s final.

Zaman started strongly, and raced out into a two-game lead, before seeing the Malaysian pull one back and start to threaten a comeback. However, the Pakistani was able to hold on and regroup to win the fourth, and book his place in the final of the competition.

He will face the tournament’s top seed, Asim Khan, after he came through his semi-final, following a retirement from opponent Israr Ahmed. The final of the DHA Islamabad International Squash Championship will be played on Wednesday, March 30.
