David Lloyd Men’s Open: Peach Secures Maiden Victory

21 November 2021

Englishman James Peach took the title at the David Lloyd Men’s Open in Purley, claiming his maiden victory on Tour, as he dropped just a single game throughout his weekend’s efforts.

The World No.269 came into the tournament as the No.5 seed, and got the better of compatriot Hasnaat Farooqi in straight games, before then defeating another Englishman, in Perry Malik, in a four-game battle in the quarter finals.

He then defeated the tournament’s top seed in a convincing three-game performance to make it through to the final, beating Ammar Altamimi in just 33 minutes.

Peach then came up against No.7 seed Owain Taylor in the final, and needed just 30 minutes to take his first title on Tour, claiming the David Lloyd Men’s Open title.
