Czech Pro Series 3: Solnicky Claims Maiden PSA Title

World No.107 Jakub Solnicky has take his first title on the PSA Tour after a tense final-game tie-break against compatriot Martin Svec in the final of the Czech Pro Series 3.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the event was held with only domestic entries taking part, meaning only those currently living in the Czech Republic were allowed to participate.

Solnicky started the event with a pair of comfortable 3-0 victories to advance to the semi-finals. He got the better of Lubos Walter Jr. in the opening round, before downing David Zeman in the last eight.

The World No.107 then came up against tournament top seed Robert Downer, but he dispatched the Englishman in a four-game, 47-minute victory to advance to only his second final on Tour, with his first coming at the Czech Pro Series 1 earlier this season.

In that final, he came up against compatriot, and No.2 seed, Martin Svec. After winning the first game, Solnicky found himself 2-1 down as Svec took the second and third games with ease. However, he fought back to win the fourth, and save match balls in the deciding game before taking the tie-break 13-11 to secure his first PSA title.
