CIB Egyptian Challenger Tour 3: Tournament Preview

The third event of the CIB Egyptian Challenger Tour series takes place this week at Cairo International Stadium, with 64 players aiming for glory come Friday afternoon.

The Challenger 5 level tournament is being run with domestic entry restrictions, with only those permanently based in Egypt being allowed to enter the event. Iraqi Mohamed Ferman Hassan will be the only non-Egyptian in the draw for the five-day tournament.

Salma Eltayeb and Nour Aboulmakarim, who won last week’s event at the Wadi Degla Club in Maadi, will be the top two seeds for the women’s draw, with the likes of Malak Kamal, Kenzy Ayman and Fayrouz Aboelkheir all contending.

Moustafa El Sirty and Yahya Elnawasany will, once again, be the top two seeds for the men’s event, with the pair seeded to meet in the final.
