Capra Baerum Open: Tournament Preview

The Capra Baerum Open begins on Thursday at Lysaker Squash & Fitness in Norway, with 48 players aiming to take home the title when the event ends after four days of action.

England’s Jasmine Hutton will be the top seed for the women’s event, with the Hong Kong quintet of Liu Tsz-Ling, Tze Lok Ho, Tsz-Wing Tong, Ka Yi lee and Vanessa Chu all amongst the top eight seeds.

Also in that seeding bracket will be Spanish No.1 Cristina Gomez and Dutch No.2 Tessa ter Sluis, while a quartet of Norwegians, in Andrea Fjellgaard, Madeleine Holland, Chloe Kalvø and Irene Fossen will all feature on home soil.

Spain’s Bernat Jaume will be the top seed for the men’s event. But Egypt’s Moustafa El Sirty, the tournament’s No.2 seed, will be the highest-ranked player in the draw.

The Egyptian, who is now the World No.51, already has seven titles to his name, and he will be among the favourites to notch up a Tour-leading eighth come the end of the week.

Portugal’s Rui Soares, England’s Nick Wall and the Hong Kong quartet of Henry Leung, Tsz Kwan Lau, Max Lee and Chi Him Wong will be amongst the top eight seeds for the tournament.
