Spencer Lovejoy is one of the newest American members of the top 100, as he broke into that group in the early part of 2021.

Lovejoy made his debut on Tour in 2016, and reached the semi-finals of his third event as a professional, making the last four at the BTMI Barbados Open, the scene of his debut twelve months earlier.

He then made the final of the same event a year later, before securing his first victory in 2019. The American won the Life Time Mississauga Open, after defeating Portugal’s Rui Soares in a five-game battle in the final.

The American then appeared at a Platinum level event for the first time later that year, doing so at the FS Investments U.S. Open Squash Championships. Lovejoy then had runners-up finishes at the Life Time City Center Open in both 2020 and 2021, with the latter results catapulting him into the top 100 in the World Rankings for the first time in his career.

The American continued his good form, making at least the quarters of his next six events, all on home soil. That run included reaching the semi-finals of the Life Time Plano International Squash Open - Presented by Resolve Tech Solutions and the Atlanta Open. Lovejoy then finished the year with another last four appearance at the Novum Energy Texas Open and a quarter final result at the HSC Open - Presented by Assurance Financial.
