Shehab Essam has proven himself to be a consistent performer on the Challenger Tour since he made his debut back in 2013.
He reached the last eight in just his third main draw appearance as a professional, doing so at the NSC SRAM Series No.2. He then made the final of the JSW PSA Indian Circuit 3 less than a year later.
2016 saw Essam secure his first two victories on the Tour, as he claimed the main prize at the Savcor Finnish Open and the Arab Federation Open, along with semi-final appearances at the Assore Central Gauteng Open, PSA Valencia and the Madeira International Squash Tournament.
The Egyptian won twice more in 2018, securing a win on the Malaysian Squash Tour, before claiming the crown at the Prague Open. He then lifted the Life Time Philadelphia Open a year later, before making the semi-finals of the E.M. Noll Classic in both 2019 and 2020.
