Rowan Elaraby joined the PSA World Tour in 2016 and went onto lift her maiden PSA World Tour title at the first time of asking.

The Egyptian beat Milnay Louw over three games to secure the Gauteng Open at the age of 15. Elaraby then beat Louw once more in her second tournament when she lifted the Keith Grainger Memorial UCT Squash Open to claim back-to-back titles.

More silverware followed the year after which saw the young Egyptian claimed the Virginia Squash Racquets Association Richmond Open beating Nicole Bunyan over three games in the final. Elaraby then claimed victory at the Charlottesville Open, beating Danielle Letourneau to the title over five games.

Four titles in her first two years on the PSA World Tour saw Elaraby move inside the world’s top 50 for the first time in her fledgling career. The young Egyptian then made the semi finals of both the Monte Carlo Classic and the Chief of the Air Staff International Women Squash Championship, at the end of 2017, before reaching the same stage of both the Edinburgh Sports Club Open and the Bahl and Gaynor Cincinnati Cup at the start of 2018.

She then made the final of the Richmond Open, but lost out to Reeham Sedky, before winning her next two tournaments. The Irish Squash Open and the Pakistan International Tournament were secured thanks to final victories over Zeina Mickawy and Nada Abbas respectively. The young Egyptian reached the top 25 of the World Rankings for the first time in the early part of 2019.

Her rise up the rankings continued through the 2019-2020 season, as she broke into the top 16 for the first time in April 2020, thanks to some great performances throughout. She started by reaching the semi-finals of the Malaysian Open in her first event, before she made another breakthrough.

Elaraby made it to the last eight of a Platinum event for the first time in her career at the FS Investments U.S. Open Squash Championships, a feat she would also achieve later in the season at the Windy City Open presented by the Walter Family. In between there were also appearances in the quarters of the Detroit Pro Classic and the Bahl and Gaynor Cincinnati Cup.

Elaraby started 2021 strongly, with a quarter final appearance at the El Gouna International, and she followed that by also making it to the last eight at both the Allam British Open and the CIB Egyptian Open, en route to breaking the top ten in the World Rankings for the first time. She ended 2021 with another quarter final appearance, this time at the CIB Squash Open Black Ball, before becoming World No.9 for the start of 2022.

A quarter final at the Windy City Open Presented by the Walter Family was followed by a first semi-final appearance at a major tournament. She made the last four of the CIB Black Ball Open, and then went on to win the Carol Weymuller Open, a Bronze level tournament, and the biggest prize of her career. Those results pushed her inside the world’s top eight, and she went on to feature at the CIB PSA World Tour Finals for the first time in her career.

Elaraby showed her consistency in the latter half of 2022, making it to the semi-finals of both the South Western Women’s Open and the Grasshopper Cup. She also reached the last eight of the U.S. Open and the MARIGOLD Singapore Squash Open.

The Egyptian suffered a slight drop off in form in the latter half of the 2022-2023 season, but still reached three quarter finals. She made it to the last eight of the DAC Pro Squash Classic, Bahl and Gaynor Cincinnati Cup and the British Open, whilst also making the last 16 of every other event she featured in.
