Raphael Kandra's tally of PSA World Tour titles extends into double figures as he has proven himself to be one of the foremost Gemans within the sport.

Fürth-born Kandra opened his account by lifting the New South Wales Open in July 2011 but faced a two year trophy-drought until his Gas City Open triumph over top seed Jan Koukal in the final. Kandra made history in January 2013 when he competed in the first ever all-German PSA World Tour final with Jens Schoor in the Rocafort Open – eventually losing in five games to his compatriot.

His fifth title came at the Gibraltar Open in 2014 and his victory at the Finnish Open in February 2015 saw him elevated into the world's top 50 in the March World Rankings. Four months later he captured his 10th title, and his first PSA M15 crown, at the NZ Southern Open where he came back from 2-0 down in the final to triumph over Tsz Fung Yip.

However, Kandra had some mixed results for the rest of the year and suffered a number of first round exits. He secured his first ever PSA M10 title at the third attempt after a fine 3-0 victory over Canadian No.1 Shawn Delierre in the final of the Bankers Hall Club Pro Am.

The German then backed this up with a semi-final appearance later that month at the Oregon Open where he lost out to Omar Abdel Meguid. During the rest of the year, Kandra suffered a mixed bag of results before lifting his 12th career title at the Cleveland Skating Club Open where he beat Canadian Andrew Schnell.

Kandra then made the last four of the Life Time Chicago Open, before winning the Sekisui Open in 2017, beating Mazen Gamal to lift the trophy. His best performance in a major came in 2018, where he reached the semi finals of the British Open, only to be defeated by the eventual victor, Miguel Rodriguez.

The German also reached the last four of the Montreal Open and the Wimbledon Club Squash Open as well as his impressive run in Hull. He was then beaten by Tarek Momen in the last 16 of both the Hong Kong Open and Black Ball Open to end his calendar year. He also reached the last 16 of several tournaments in the second half of the 2018-19 season, doing so at the Motor City Open, Canary Wharf Classic and DPD Open.

The German made it to the quarter-finals of the Oracle NetSuite Open and then into the last 16 of the FS Investments U.S. Open Squash Championships in the early part of the 2019/2020 season. A quarter-final appearance also came at the Pittsburgh Open, and he reached the last 16 of the Platinum level Qatar Classic in November 2020. With the retirement of Simon Rösner, Kandra took over as the German No.1.

The German won on home soil in a Challenger 5 event to kick off his 2021 campaign, beating compatriot Yannik Omlor in the final of the DSQV Sportwerk 5, before then going on to reach the third round of the El Gouna International Squash Open.

He also would reach the last 16 of both the Allam British Open and the U.S. Open presented by Truist, before making another Platinum quarter-final, beating Marwan ElShorbagy en route to the last eight of the Qatar QTerminals Classic in October 2021.

A string of consistent performances followed throughout the early part of 2022, including another quarter final at the Manchester Open, and third round results at both the Allam British Open and the El Gouna International. He also claimed a fourth German National title in five years to maintain his position as the best German in the game right now.

Kandra made the semi-finals of both the CIB Zed Squash Open and the Czech Open in the early part of the 2022-2023 campaign to cement his place as a member of the world’s top 20. The German No.1 only made the last 16 of two tournaments in the second half of the season, doing so at the Houston Open and the Oxford Properties Canadian Men’s Open, as he fell out of the world’s top 30 for the first time in two years.
