Nicole Bunyan is one of several Canadians inside the top 100 of the World Rankings, and recently broke into the top 50 in the world for the first time in her career.

The Canadian joined the Tour back in 2015, and the reached the quarter-finals of her second event, the Liberty Bell Open. She then reached the semis of the Nicolas Wealth Open and the final of the Bitar Cosmetics - Play Squash Women’s Open a year later.

Bunyan also made the final of the Virginia Squash Racquets Association Richmond Open in 2017, along with last eight appearances at the Sentara Martha Jefferson Charlottesville Open and the Alliance Fabricating Ltd. Simon Warder Memorial Prostate Cancer Open.

She took her first victory on Tour in 2018, winning the E.M. Noll Classic after defeating Maria Toorpakai Wazir in the final. That was followed by a semi-final run at the Bermuda Open and quarter-final appearances at the Queen City Open, London Open and Richmond Open.

She reached the last eight in Bermuda a year later, after featuring in the main draw of the World Championships for the first time. Bunyan also made semi-final appearances at the Aspin Cup later that year, as well as doing so at the E.M Noll Classic in 2020.

A run of last 16 results followed, including at the Bahl and Gaynor Cincinnati Gaynor Cup, a Bronze level event on Tour. After some more Platinum experiences, at the start of the 2020-2021 season, Bunyan then made the semi-finals of the Life Time City Centre Women’s International Squash Open. She also made the last four of the Oxford Properties Canadian Senior Championships later that year.

She would make the same stage of the same event, the Oxford Properties Canadian Open - Presented by AirSprint Private Aviation, a year later. 2022 also saw Bunyan reach the quarters of the Open de France de Squash and the Hamilton Open, and she broke the top 40 for the first time in her career in October of that year.

Early on in 2023, Bunyan made the final of the Expression Networks BVAC Women’s Open, finishing runner-up to Mexico’s Diana Garcia. She also made the quarters of the Women’s Kinetic Orange Ball Challenger, along with finishing in the last 16 of both the Chestnut Hill Classic and the Canadian Women’s Open in the later part of the 2022-2023 campaign.
