Nada Abbas is one of the youngest players on the Women’s Tour and has now become a consistent fixture of the women's top 25.

Abbas quickly captured the attention after taking huge strides during the first few months of her fledging career and was ranked 67th in the world after less than two years on tour. The Giza-based player collected her first title in April 2016 beating Birgit Coufal in the Harrow Lion Squash Cup – which came less than a week after losing out in her first ever final at the Paderborn Open to Belgian Nele Gilis.

The Egyptian went onto claim her second PSA World Tour title at the age of just 16 at the London Open, beating English qualifier Julianne Courtice in five after she battled back from one game down before Courtice took the fourth on a tie-break to set up a decider, which Abbas won as her career continued to go from strength-to-strength. Abbas broke into the world’s top 50 for the first time in 2017.

She did so after reach the semi finals of the Bahl and Gaynor Cincinnati Cup, and then the last eight of both the Winnipeg Women’s Open and the Calgary Squash Open. Another quarter final appearance came at the Slaight Music Granite Open, later that year, before she made the same stage of the Edinburgh Sports Club Open in 2018.

Abbas, finished runner-up three times in the calendar year, where she lost out in the final to a compatriot on all three occasions. Mayar Hany got the better of her in the Queen City Open, before she lost out to Rowan Elaraby in the Pakistan Open. She also made the final of the Wadi Degla Squash Tournament, but lost the big game to Zeina Mickawy. The young Egyptian also had two runner-up finishes in the first half to 2019, as she made it to the final of both the Calgary CFO Consulting Services PSA Women’s Squash Week and the Racquet Club Pro-Series.

Abbas reached the final of the HKFC PSA International Squash Open in the early part of the 2019-2020 season, losing out to Sivasangari Subramaniam. She reached the last 16 of both the Detroit Pro Classic and the Bahl and Gaynor Cincinnati Cup, before another breakout came at the CIB Black Ball Women’s Squash Open. The young Egyptian reached the quarter-finals of a Platinum event for the first time, with the result pushing her inside the top 20 of the World Rankings for the first time, before the age of 20.

She suffered a slight drop-off in form following the Tour’s resumption six months later, before making it into the third round of the El Gouna International Squash Open. Abbas then followed that with further last 16 appearances at the CIB Egyptian Open and U.S. Open presented by Truist. She then ended 2021 with her third Tour win, with victory at the CIB Egyptian Challenger Tour 5.

Abbas started the New Year with a run of third round results at the majors, including the CIB Black Ball Open and the Allam British Open, before then making the semis of the Annecy Rose Open in France, losing out to eventual winner Tinne Gilis. The young Egyptian then reached the quarters of both the J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions and the CIB PSA World Championships.

After a six-month absence, Abbas returned with a quarter final result at the DAC Pro Squash Classic. She also reached the same stage of the Squash on Fire Open and St James Women’s 20K Classic, before finishing runner-up to Tinne Gilis at the Richmond Open. The Egyptian made the last 16 of the El Gouna International, her last event of the season.
