Mazen Gamal joined the PSA World Tour in 2008 and won back-to-back Tour titles the following year at the International Fajr No. 1 and International Narooz.

The following year Gamal claimed two more titles with a victory over David Vidal at the PSA Magdalena Squash Open and a win over four games against Charles Sharpes at the Petersburg Squash Cup. Gamal saw out the year with a runner-up finish at the Greek Open, where he lost out to Jens Schoor in straight games.

The Egyptian’s next title then did not come until five years later when he won the Gauteng Open in 2015 after a gruelling five-game encounter with Angus Gillams. Gamal then got the better of Gillams once more when he claimed silverware at the Western Province Open.

Gamal then won his third title of 2015 when he beat England’s Nathan Lake at the Grand Sport Armenian Challenger. The Egyptian then defended his title the following year with another win over Lake – in a repeat of the previous year’s final – to claim his eighth PSA World Tour title.

He then went on to claim his ninth Tour title after beating compatriot Karim El Hammamy in the final of the PSA Valencia tournament in a 122 minute epic. Following semi-final appearances at the Garavan’s West of Ireland Open and the GillenMarkets Irish Squash Open, Gamal then made the final of the Sekisui Open. He then had a string of last eight results through the next 12 months, before finishing runner-up at the Growthpoint S.A. Open in the summer of 2018.

He also reached the last four of the Faletti’s Hotel International Men and Women Squash Championship before reaching another final. That came at the CIB Wadi Degla Squash Tournament, where he lost out to compatriot Youssef Ibrahim.

Gamal made semi-final appearances at the 2nd Novum Energy Texas Open Squash Championships and the Life Time Betty Griffin Memorial Florida Open in 2019, before making the same stage of the 14th CNS International Squash Championship a year later. His first event of 2021 saw the Egyptian reach the final of the Expression Networks Enjoy Open, where he lost out to France’s Gregory Gaultier.

The Egyptian then reached the last eight of the 2nd HCL SRFI Indian Tour - Chennai Leg 1, before claiming another Tour title at the Open PSA Lagord Tennis Squash, his first victory in five years. Gamal followed that by reaching the final of the QSF 3 in Doha.
