Lucy Beecroft is one of several Englishwomen inside the top 50 of the World Rankings, having moved back inside that ranking mark after finishing her college career at Yale University.

She made the quarter finals of the first main draw she was involved in, back in 2015, making the last eight of the Edinburgh Open Squash Championships. She then did not feature on Tour again until 2018, where she made the last eight of the Christchurch Veterinary Surgery Ipswich Open.

She made her first final on Tour in her next event, at the Karakal Bangor Classic, losing out to Lisa Aitken, before having to wait three years until she eventually got her maiden crown. After featuring at the PSA World Championships for the first time in her career, Beecroft claimed her first Tour title, winning the Arion Homes Cheetham Hill Classic.

Beecroft then made it to the final of the Hit and Run Sport Challenger, before a run of quarter final appearances, including at the TWC Squash Squared Open. The Englishwoman then travelled Stateside, and won the Nash Cup, her second Tour title, before also making the quarters of the Hamilton Open. She ended her year with a semi-final appearance at the Commercial Water Solutions Grange Challenger, starting 2022 at World No.65, more than 300 places higher than she had been in the rankings the previous May.

A semi-final appearance came at the 3rd Silvester Trophy, before she made it into the quarter finals of the Richmond Open. Beecroft then claimed her third Tour title with a win over Alina Bushma in the final of the NTA Squash Classic. That was followed by a last 16 appearance at the RMCLUB Women’s Open presented by Expression Networks, her last tournament of the season.

The Englishwoman started the 2022-2023 campaign slowly, but reached the semis of the Nash Cup, losing out to eventual champion Zeina Zein as she attempted to defend her crown. Beecroft then came runner-up at the Hamilton Open and made the last four of the Rhode Island Open to move into the world’s top 50 for the first time in November 2022. The Englishwoman also made the second round of a major for the first time, reaching the last 32 at the Everbright Securities International Hong Kong Squash Open.

The early part of 2023 was a strong one for Beecroft, as she reached the final of the Calgary CFO Consulting Services Women’s Squash Week, along with making it to the quarter finals of both the Canadian Women’s Open and the Cannon Kirk GillenMarkets Irish Squash Open. Beecroft also made the second round of the PSA World Championships, as she moved into the world’s top 40 for the first time in May 2023.
