Lily Taylor is another member of the group of young Englishwomen inside the top 75 in the World Rankings and looking to push on.

After playing eight events on Tour prior to 2015, including reaching the semi-finals of the Edinburgh Open Squash Championships the year earlier, Taylor then focussed on her studies, before returning to play the sport on the Tour again in 2018.

She made her first final on the Tour in just her fourth event back, losing out to Menna Hamed in the final of the 2nd PwC Open. Taylor would to have to wait long to grab that elusive first victory, though, as she claimed the title at the Capra Baerum Open in 2019.

Following on from her first win, the Englishwoman also made the last eight of the Racquet Club Pro-Series and then recorded a semi-final result at the Seattle Open.

After struggling in her first couple of events post-Tour suspension, Taylor then made the semis of the Odense Open in Denmark, before featuring at the PSA World Championships and Allam British Open in the summer of 2021.

The Englishwoman then went on to three times on the Challenger Tour in the latter part of the calendar year, including taking back-to-back wins at the Moscow Squash Open and the Holmes Naden Prestbury Squash Open. She also claimed victory at the Czech Pro Series VI in her final action of the year, pushing herself inside the world’s top 60 to start 2022.
