Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu has proved himself as something of a specialist when it comes to events in his home country of India.

Sandhu lifted his first two PSA World Tour titles at the Indian Challenger series in 2009 but would face a five year wait for his next titles which came at the Indian Circuit. 2014 was also the year that he helped India to a gold medal at the Asian Games.

He shocked Indian No.1 Saurav Ghosal in the final of the Indian Nationals to lift the crown for the first time in November of that year and he reached the final of the Christchurch International Open in in June 2015, losing to Declan James in the final. Four months later, Sandhu was back in another final on home soil but couldn’t get the better of Mohamed Reda in the pair’s Chennai JSW Indian Circuit clash.

Sandhu had his best year on Tour in 2017, as he claimed victory at five consecutive events across three countries. That run was bookended with wins on the Malaysian Squash Tour, while the Indian won twice on Australian soil as well.

He secured victories at the Victorian Open and the South Australian Open, along with a win in the Philippines, at the 2nd Nissan Open Squash Championships. The Indian then had a runners-up finish at the Squashgym International Squash Classic, before claiming an 11th win on Tour at the Mumbai Leg of the HCL SRFI Indian Tour in 2019.
