Georgina Kennedy is one of the brightest talents on the PSA World Tour, and has broken into the top 10 in the World Rankings following an outstanding couple of years post-COVID.

After reaching several semi-finals and the final at the 2nd Tourney International du Val de Marne, the Englishwoman then took a four-year break from the Tour to study at Harvard University, and when she came back, she was unstoppable.

Kennedy returned in June 2021, and went on to win seven of her first nine tournaments, including three Challenger 10 level tournaments, doing so at the Berkhamsted Linksap Open, TWC Squash Squared Open and the Springfield Scottish Squash Open. She also made it to the final of the Squash On Fire Open in that period.

Those performances saw her move inside the top 50 for the first time, before she then made it to the third round of the U.S. Open presented by Truist, and then the final of the PSA World Tour Bronze level DAC Pro Squash Classic. An eighth win of the year came at the London Open.

The young Englishwoman then made it to the semi-finals of the CIB Squash Open Black Ball to make her way inside the top 20 in the World Rankings for the first time in her career.

Kennedy started 2022 in great form, as she won the Cleveland Classic, the biggest title of her career to that point. She then went on to reach the last eight of both the Windy City Open Presented by the Walter Family and the CIB Black Ball Open, before featuring at the season-ending CIB PSA World Tour Finals for the first time, as she moved inside the world's top eight.

The Englishwoman then represented her country at the Commonwealth Games for the first time, and she would go on to take the Gold Medal in the Women’s Singles, beating Canada’s Hollie Naughton in the final in Birmingham. She was also a part of the English quartet that won the title at the European Team Championships.

Unfortunately, Kennedy was hampered with injury over the first half of the 2022-2023 season. She only managed to make the quarter finals of two events, doing so at the South Western Women’s Open and the Grasshopper Cup. However, she returned with a bang at the start of 2023, beating top seed Olivia Fiechter in the final of the Carol Weymuller Open to secure a second Bronze level title.

She followed that with her 11th Tour title, as she won the Cleveland Classic for the second year in succession. She defended the title, with it being her first Silver level crown. She also reached the quarters of the J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions, along with finishing runner-up at the DAC Pro Squash Classic.

Throughout the rest of the season, she did not fail to reach the last eight of any tournament. That run included a semi-final appearance at the Manchester Open, and making the quarters of the British Open, El Gouna International and the PSA World Championships. Kennedy reached a career-high of World No.7 in May, and also cemented herself as the new English No.1.
