Georgia Adderley is one of Scotland’s top players, and she had a breakthrough year in 2021, as she claimed her first four titles on Tour.

The young Scot made the quarter-finals of just her fourth tournament, doing so at the Barcelona Squash Open in 2017. She also made the same stage of the TRAC Oil & Gas North of Scotland Open on home soil a year later.

Further last eight results came over the next twelve months or so, along with a first semi-final appearance, which came at the Cronimet Swedish Squash Open in 2019.

The Scot only appeared on Tour twice in 2020, in part due to the COVID-19 pandemic which saw the Tour shut down for six months. After that, Adderley returned in form, making it to the semis of the AS Insurance Services Ltd Pontefract Ladies Challenger. She then claimed her maiden PSA title with a victory at the City of Peterborough Squash & Racketball Club Open.

She then finished runner-up at the Stellar New Malden Squash Festival before appearing at the PSA World Championships for the first time in her career. Two more titles came in the summer, with the Scot winning the Hit and Run Sport Challenger and the AS Insurance Services Ltd NM Academy Open.

Adderley continued her good form by reaching the semis of the TWCC Squash Squared Open and the Springfield Scottish Squash Open before then making the final of the Northern Joe Cup. She claimed a fourth title of 2021 at the Commercial Water Solutions Grange Challenger, her first title on home soil, before ending the year with a runners-up finish at the Sportwerk Women’s Open to move inside the world’s top 60 for the first time to begin 2022.

The Scot then reached the semis of the Karachi Open Squash Championships, before making it to the final of the Bermuda Open. That would be the first of three finals Adderley made in 2022. She also finished runner-up at the Nash Cup and the London Open.

Those results allowed Adderley to break into the Platinum events, and thanks to reaching the second round of both the Everbright Securities International Hong Kong Squash Open and the PSA World Championships, to break into the world’s top 50 for the first time in her career.
