Chan Sin Yuk has risen up the rankings and now sits inside the world's top 40, along with contending for the Hong Kong No.1 spot.

Her career started slowly, and included a couple of appearances in the qualifying rounds of the Cathay Pacific Sun Hung Kai Financial Hong Kong Open, before reaching the quarter finals of the Contrex Challenger Cup on the Challenger Tour in 2018.

After a year-long break, mainly due to the Tour’s suspension for the COVID-19 pandemic, Yuk came back strongly, and reached the semi-finals of the Chairman Cup, before then going on to claim her maiden Tour title at the Chairman Cup 2, beating Vanessa Chu in the final.

The Hongkonger then won again on home soil, taking the title at the Hong Kong Football Club PSA, before going to the United States and winning a third consecutive tournament. She defeated Finland’s Emilia Soini to take the Hamilton Open crown.

Thanks to those three wins, she moved inside the world’s top 80 for the first time at the end of 2021. By the end of 2022, she had made the move inside the world’s top 40, thanks to three more wins, and some strong showings on the PSA World Tour.

It started with a quarter final appearance at the E.M. Noll Classic, before making the final of three consecutive tournaments. Yuk finished runner-up at the Calgaro CFO Consulting Services Women’s Squash Week and Karachi Open Squash Championships, before winning the J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions Challenger.

That victory in New York gave her a place in the main draw of the J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions and she took her opportunity, making it into the last 16 of the PSA World Tour Gold level event. She then won twice more on the Challenger Tour, winning in back-to-back weeks at the Costa North Coast Open and the Volkswagen Bega Open in Australia. She also made the quarters of the Oracle NetSuite Open in San Francisco.

Yuk was also a key part of the Hong Kong team that took home the title at the Asian Team Championships, as they beat Malaysia in the final to win the tournament for a fourth time in their history. The Hongkonger only featured five times in the second half of the season, but she picked up her 7th PSA Tour title. Yuk was victorious at the St James Women’s Classic. She then finished the campaign with a last 16 result at the Richmond Open.
