Auguste Dussourd is one of several French players moving up the rankings, and he broke into the world's top 25 for the first time in the summer of 2023.

The Frenchman joined the tour in 2013, and a year later, and in the first event where he featured in the main draw, he made it to the final. Although he lost out to Christophe Andre in the final of the 2nd Open Squash Provence Chateau-Arnoux, it would be a sign of things to come for Dussourd.

After a string of quarter-final appearances over the next two years, along with runners-up finishes at the Euro Styl Open, Lew-Lapointe Discover Mount Royal University Open and the Mano Arbeitnehmeruberlassung Insel Bruggen Open, Dussourd finally got that elusive first title at the end of 2016.

He defeated Tayyab Aslam to win the I.R. Iran Navy Squash Open, and carried on his good form with another runners-up finish, this time at the Khoozestan Squash Association Shahid Daghayeghi Open, before semi-final appearances at the Cronimet Open and the Mount Royal University Open.

He broke through in 2017, winning three times in a run of reaching four consecutive finals. He was victorious at the 10ª Copa INOB de Squash on the Tour De Las Americas (TDLA), 5th Open Squash Provence Chateau-Arnoux and the Airport Squash & Fitness - Airport Xmas Challenger. That run of wins saw him move into the top 100 in the World Rankings for the first time in his career.

Dussourd was unable to achieve more success in 2018, despite reaching the semi-finals of four events, including a final defeat on the TDLA in Paraguay. He bounced back a year later though, to claim four more wins.

He was successful at the New York Squash Hyder Trophy, Colon PSA Squash Open on the TDLA, Nash Cup and Aspin Cup, taking his tally to eight wins as a professional. Thanks to those performances, he was able to secure a spot in the PSA Men’s World Championship in Qatar in 2019, and followed that with semi-final appearances at the Life Tie Betty Griffin Memorial Florida Open and the PSA Bordeaux Nord in 2020.

2021 would be a great year for the Frenchman, as he claimed three titles on the Challenger Tour, and moved inside the top 40 in the World Rankings come the end of the year.

After three Platinum events, Dussourd claimed his first win of the year at the Nash Cup, successfully defending the title he had won two years previously. That was followed by wins at the Open International Niort Venise Verte and the Sportwerk Men’s Open, while he also made three other finals in the calendar year.

He would then go on to win twice more in 2022. Dussourd took the titles at the 1st Kuwait International Squash Championship and the Open Lagord Tennis Squash. The Frenchman also made the semis of the Cannon Kirk Irish Squash Open and the Open de France de Squash, along with a quarter final appearance at the Open International Niort Venise Verte.

Last 16 finishes at the Everbright Securities International Hong Kong Squash Open, Houston Open and J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions helped keep the Frenchman's rise up the World Rankings going. He broke into the world’s top 25 for the first time in March, hitting a career-high of World No.23 three months later.
