Adrian Waller has represented England at the highest level since bursting onto the scene as a junior, and has spent several months inside the world's top 20.

In 2007, he became the first player ever to win the British Junior National titles at under 13’s, under 15’s, under 17’s and under 19’s level. Waller participated in the longest tour match for thirty years at the National Capital Open in January 2013, coming runner up to Shawn Delierre. The match lasted 157 minutes, which shows Waller’s ability to play the long game.

That ability was well tested during Waller’s Irish Open win in April 2014, where he took 93 minutes to defeat Scotsman Alan Clyne in a five-set final. A runner-up finish in May at the Jersey Classic and a semi-final place at the Edmonton Open followed for Waller before he got knocked out of the Andorra Open in April 2015 at the same stage.

Despite this, Waller remains one of the fittest players on the tour and he displayed his resolution as he captured his fifth PSA World Tour crown at the NSCI Open five months later. Waller reached the semi-final of the Harrow Charlottesville Open in September 2016 but was downed by Stephen Coppinger over three games.

England’s Waller then reached the semi-final of the Montreal Open in 2017 against Cesar Salazar, which went the distance over five games but saw Waller miss out on the final. However, a final appearance came for Waller, who lost out to fellow Englishman Declan James in the Gillenmarkets Irish Squash Open final.

Waller then won the DPD Open, getting revenge on Declan James in the final. The Englishman then reached the semi finals of the Arnold Homes Tring Open, but he lost to Peter Creed.

Waller then hit new highs in the 2018-2019 season, including last 16 appearances at the China Open and Qatar Classic, before reaching the quarter finals of the Motor City Open. The Englishman moved up to a new career-high ranking of World No.21 in June, thanks to a victory at the Montreal Open, which followed a visit to the last 16 at the El Gouna International.

He then made his way into the top 20 of the World Rankings during the 2019-2020 season, which included a victory at the Life Time Chicago Open on the PSA Challenger Tour. He made the last 16 of two major tournaments, the FS Investments U.S. Open Squash Championships and the Windy City Open presented by the Walter Family.

Waller was also a key member of the England side that reached the final of the WSF Men’s World Team Squash Championships, alongside Declan James, Jams Willstrop and Daryl Selby, as they took home the silver medal from Washington, D.C. He reached the last 16 on his return to the PSA World Tour following the enforced suspension, doing so at the Manchester Open.

He also reached the same stage in Manchester a year later, before claiming his ninth PSA Tour title. Waller was victorious at the Challenger 30 level Cleveland Skating Club Open, defeating Mohamed ElSherbini in the final. That was followed with last 16 appearances at both the Qatar QTerminals Classic and Canary Wharf Classic.

Those last 16 finishes continued into 2022, as he made that mark of the Sturbridge Capital Motor City Open, Windy City Open Presented by the Walter Family, and the GillenMarkets Canary Wharf Classic. Waller claimed a 10th Tour title, winning the Jansher Khan Canberra Open, before making the semis of the City Tattersalls Club Australian Open and the last eight of the Robertson Lodges New Zealand Open to end his 2022.

On the international stage, he was a key part of the England team that claimed the victory at the European Team Championships. He also took home two Silver Medals at the Commonwealth Games, finishing runner-up in both the Men’s and Mixed Doubles in Birmingham.

The Englishman had back-to-back last 16 results at the Sturbridge Capital Motor City Open and the Squash On Fire Open, before then reaching the last eight of the Cannon Kirk Gillen Markets Irish Squash Open. He ended the year with second round appearances at both the PSA World Championships and the El Gouna International.
