Abdulla Mohd Al Tamimi is the Qatari No.1 and turned professional in 2011, breaking into the world’s top 20 for the first time eleven years later.

He claimed a place in the world's top 70 in November 2014 thanks to some consistent performances before reaching his first PSA World Tour final three months later at the Guilfoyle Financial PSA Classic where he lost out to Declan James. The Qatarian reached two further finals throughout the year at both the Nash Cup and the Any Presence Open but narrowly missed out on both titles.

Tamimi also made a handful of semi-final appearances as the season went on, the Qatarian lifted his first PSA Tour title in March 2016, when he beat Chris Hanson to lift his maiden title.

Tamimi then went onto lift his second title later that month at the Qatar Circuit III, beating Karim Ali Fathi over five games. A further title was then added to the Qatarian’s collection when he lifted the Australian Open later that year, beating Campbell Grayson in the final, which saw him break into the world’s top 40 for the first time in November 2016.

He made the final of the next event on the Qatar Circuit, beaten by Iker Pajares. Tamimi then made the semi finals of the Canada Cup, before then winning the Malaysian Open. He was also a quarter-finalist at the J.P. Morgan China Open and the QSF No.1 in 2018, before making the final of the QSF Open on home soil a year later, losing out to Leo Au. The Qatari also made it to the last four of the HKFC International Squash Open.

He made the last 16 of the PSA Men’s World Championship on home soil in Doha, before securing quarter-final appearances at both the Motor City Open and the QSF 4, in what was his last tournament of 2020.

Unfortunately for Al Tamimi, 2021 was not kind to him, as he struggled with injuries throughout the year, and was only able to play in six events. However, he did reach the quarter finals of the Manchester Open, before ending his year with a semi-final result at the CIB Egyptian Challenger Tour 5.

After some early exits at the majors to start 2022, and after dropping outside the top 50 for the first time in six years, Al Tamimi secured his sixth Tour title, beating Argentina’s Leandro Romiglio in the final of the Life Time Atlanta Open. He then secured another victory, this time at the QSF 3, to end his 2022-2023 season in the best way.

The Qatari then started the new campaign in that same vein of form, as he made it to the quarter finals on home soil at the QTerminals Qatar Classic, knocking out World No.2 Paul Coll en route to the last eight. That result, along with making the semis of the Robertson Lodges New Zealand Open, pushed Al Tamimi into the top 20 of the World Rankings for the first time in his career, a mark he achieved in November 2022.

A string of last 16 results, coming at the MARIGOLD Singapore Squash Open, J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions and Sturbridge Capital Motor City Open, saw the Qatari reach a career-high of World No.17 in March, but he did not play in the last three months of the campaign due to injury.
