Vähämaa Claims Main Draw Berth at Any Presence Open

The final qualifying round of the Any Presence Open, PSA M10 event saw Jaakko Vähämaa secure a spot in the main draw after defeating Dylan Cunningham with a 3-0 victory.

The World No.162 from Finland, who received a bye in the first qualifying round, just managed to edge out all three games by tight margins to record an 11-8, 11-9, 11-9 triumph to seal his place in the next round.

Lohja-born Vähämaa will go up against Joe Chapman in the opening round of the main draw as he looks to progress past the first round for the first time in 2015.

Clinton Leeuw meanwhile secured his spot in the main draw after defeating Syed Hamzah Shah Bukhari and he will face Shawn Delierre in the next round.

England’s Anthony Graham has also sealed his place in the next stage after romping to victory against Kevin Chen in straight games. He will meet Mexican No.3 Eric Galvez as he bids to reach the quarter-final.

Ahmad Alzabidi’s win over Edgar Zayas sees him through to face Abdulla Mohd Al Tamimi in the next round while Zayas benefits from Lucky Loser status after a main draw withdrawal. His opponent will be number three seed Farhan Zaman.
