Tinne Gilis Breaks Back Into Top 20 in Women’s Rankings

Belgium’s Tinne Gilis has broken back into the top 20 of the PSA Women’s World Rankings for the first time since August, 2021 after she rose 11 spots to reach a career-high ranking of No.13.

Gilis reached the first PSA Platinum quarter final of her career at the British Open and also picked up titles at the Annecy Rose Open and the Cannon Kirk Irish Squash Open, beating her older sister, Nele, in the final of the former.

At the top of the rankings, Nouran Gohar leads the way for a second successive month, while Nour El Sherbini (No.2), Hania El Hammamy (No.3), Amanda Sobhy (No.4) and Joelle King complete the top five.

The only change in the top 10 sees USA’s Olivia Fiechter move up two places to replace France’s Camille Serme at No.10, with Sarah-Jane Perry (No.6), Salma Hany (No.7), Rowan Elaraby (No.8) and Georgina Kennedy (No.9) taking the final remaining spots.

Nele moves up a place to a career-high No.11 ranking, while Joshna Chinappa drops a spot to No.14. Wales’ Tesni Evans drops to No.15, while Nada Abbas stays at No.16 and Hollie Naughton remains at No.17.

Emily Whitlock moves up a place to No.18 and there are two new entrants inside the top 20, with Farida Mohamed rising seven places to No.19 and Sivasangari Subramaniam rising two spots to No.20, becoming the first Malaysian woman since eight-time World Champion Nicol David in June, 2019 to feature inside the top 20.

Canada’s Iman Shaheen is the biggest mover on the women’s tour and she rose 120 places after reaching the last 24 of the Oxford Properties Canadian Open – Presented by AirSprint Private Aviation last month.
