World Junior Champion Nouran Gohar was one of the breakthrough stars of the 2015/16 season and emerged as a genuine contender for the sport’s biggest titles at the tender age of 18.

After beginning the season on a high with a stunning upset of eight-time World Champion Nicol David at the China Open, Gohar rapidly developed into one of the world’s leading players. A final appearance in May’s Allam British Open and a semi-final berth at the Naza PSA Women’s World Championship were just rewards for a fine season – a campaign that has also seen her claim a place amongst the world’s elite at the season-ending Dubai PSA World Series Finals.

Speaking to _SquashXtra_, the official publication of the PSA World Tour, Gohar discussed the past 12 months on Tour, her improvement and the difficulty of balancing a professional playing career with university studies.

Gohar will be pitted against David, World No.2 Laura Massaro and United States No.1 Amanda Sobhy in Group A of the World Series Finals, which will be played in a round robin best-of-three format, where the top two will qualify for the semi-finals.
