Omar Abdel Meguid Retires From Squash

27 November 2019

Egypt’s Omar Abdel Meguid has retired from professional squash at the age 31, following 14 years on the PSA World Tour.

The Egyptian last played in the Greetings Squash Championship in August, where he finished runner-up to Sebastien Bonmalais.

Meguid lifted 13 PSA Tour titles over his career, including a terrific form in late 2015 and early 2016, when he won three consecutive tournaments.

He won the Qatar Circuit II, Oregon Open and Ganem Vein Institute Cactus Classic over the space of a couple of months.

A year prior to that, Meguid made his way to his highest ever World Rankings, with the Egyptian reaching World No.25 in November 2014.
