Global start times

Nour El Tayeb v Georgina Kennedy

Reigning Manchester Open champion Nour El Tayeb takes on England’s No.1 Georgina Kennedy in the women’s final, which will be their seventh meeting on the PSA World Tour.

The pair met last month at the El Gouna International, where Kennedy came out on top to progress to the semi finals, defeating El Tayeb 3-2 in an hour.

El Tayeb, who defeated Nele Gilis in last year’s final, has only dropped one game so far on the way to reaching the decider, coming from behind to defeat Sabrina Sobhy in the quarter finals. The World No.6 was in impressive form yesterday to down Rowan Elaraby in straight games.

Kennedy – who will make her 200th appearance on the World Tour this afternoon – has also only dropped one game so far. The World No.7 defeated Salma Hany in the semi finals yesterday, while seeing off Hollie Naughton and Satomi Watanabe in the previous rounds.

Can El Tayeb make it back-to-back title successes in Manchester or will Kennedy claim her second trophy of the season?

Joel Makin v Greg Lobban

2022 champion Joel Makin and Greg Lobban will square off in the men’s decider, the fifth time they will have gone head-to-head on the World Tour.

Both have two wins each, and it was Makin who triumphed in their last encounter at the Qatar Classic 2023 – winning 3-0 to secure a semi final berth.

Makin, who overcame Mohamed ElShorbagy two years ago to clinch his maiden piece of silverware on the World Tour, has looked in top form to reach the final. The World No.10 downed George Parker, Iker Pajares and Youssef Ibrahim to seal a spot in the decider.

Lobban, featuring in a final on the PSA World Tour for the first time, has had an excellent week in Manchester – dispatching Jonah Bryant before seeing off Gregoire Marche and holding off Fares Dessouky for a place in the final.

Will Makin claim his second title in Manchester or can Lobban secure his first World Tour crown?
