Liu Tsz-Ling Announces Retirement From The PSA World Tour

Hong Kong’s former World No.23 Liu Tsz-Ling has announced her retirement from the PSA World Tour after 13 years of competing.

The 30-year-old competed in 142 tournaments throughout her career claiming 12 PSA titles and reaching 18 finals. She also featured in six World Championships, with her best finish coming at the 2018-19 Championships in Chicago. She has also reached the finals of the Hong Kong National Championships on four occasions.

Tsz-Ling first appeared on the PSA World Tour in the qualifying draw of the Crocodile Challenge Cup in 2005. The, then 15-year-old Ling, lost out to Australia’s Amanda Hopps in straight games in round one.

Her first PSA title came in 2011 at the North Coast Open in Coffs Harbour, Australia. She came into the event as the No.7 seed and battled her way through to the final to eventually beat New Zealand’s Megan Craig 3-2 in the final.

The biggest tournament win of Tsz-Ling’s career came at the 3rd Bahria Town International Women's Squash Championship in 2016. She capitalised on her no.1 seeding to beat Egypt’s Amina Yousry in a 55-minute final to take the 15k event title.

Tsz-Ling wasted no time in storming up the rankings and broke into the world’s top 50 for the first time in February 2012. She would go on to achieve a highest ranking of World No.23 in January 2017.
