Douglas Kempsell scalped second seed Tayyab Aslam after a superb five-game-thriller in the quarter-final of the Greater Shepparton City Council International, PSA M5 event to stay in with a chance of lifting his second PSA World Tour title of 2015.

The 22-year-old Scotsman, who tasted victory at the Geneva Open earlier this year, lost the opener but recovered well to go 2-1 ahead.

A dramatic fourth game followed in which Aslam triumphed by the narrowest of margins before Kempsell pressed on to secure a 7-11, 11-8, 11-8, 10-12, 11-5 triumph and bring an end to a mammoth 94 minute tussle.

He will line up against Joshua Larkin in the next round after the only remaining Australian left in the tournament romped to victory against Ko Youngjo.

Jaymie Haycocks is on course to play to his number one seeding after 3-0 victory against Jong Myoung Park and he will meet Joshua Masters in the semi-final after the Englishman bested Kush Kumar in straight games.
