Gordon Takes Out Elshorbagy In Ontario Opener

Unseeded American Christopher Gordon pulled off the biggest win of his career, scalping World No.12 Marwan Elshorbagy 3-0 in the first round of the Northern Ontario Open, PSA International International 25 tournament.

The World No.59 dominated from the start against the high-flying Egyptian, adopting an aggressive style to punish Elshorbagy at every opportunity and it paid dividends, as he raced into a two game lead.

Elshorbagy mounted a mini revival in the third game, but Gordon maintained his focus and managed to seal the win, 11-7, 11-8, 11-9 in just 35-minutes.

Elsewhere, the top seeds prevailed with relative ease with the returning Dutch star LJ Anjema, fresh from a prolong injury lay off, looking particularly impressive, clinically defeating Shahier Razik 3-0.
