Gohar And Farag Extend Their Reigns At World Rankings Summit

7 November 2022

Egyptian pair Nouran Gohar and Ali Farag continue to lead the way at the top of the PSA World Rankings.

Gohar, who’s been at the summit for 49 weeks, has already clinched the U.S. Open and the South Western Women’s Open titles this season.

The 25-year-old is back in action at the end of the month for the return of the Everbright Securities International Hong Kong Squash Open to the World Tour calendar.

Current World Champion Nour El Sherbini, Hania El Hammamy, Amanda Sobhy and Joelle King make up the top five with the rest of the top 20 unchanged.

USA’s Haley Mendez has moved up one place to World No.53, Au Yeong Wai Yhann reaches her highest ranking of World No.92, Colombia’s Laura Tovar moves up one spot to World No.99 and Yasshmita Jadishkumar climbs into World No.100.

Just like Gohar, Farag leads an unchanged top 20 in the men’s World Rankings.

Farag, who won the CIB Egyptian Open and was runner-up in the U.S. Open final following an injury retirement, briefly surrendered top spot to Paul Coll for two weeks, but has been back on top since mid-October.

Coll remains in second, followed by Mostafa Asal, Mohamed ElShorbagy and Diego Elias in the rest of the top five.

France’s Auguste Dussourd, who won the Open PSA Lagord Tennis Squash 2022 at the weekend, has risen from World No.42 to World No.39.

Elsewhere, Declan James moves up one place to World No.43, Balazs Farkas claims a career best ranking of World No.52 and Rory Stewart climbs up to World No.54.
