Farag And El Sherbini Named PSA World Tour Players Of The Month For February

World No.1s Ali Farag and Nour El Sherbini have been named the PSA World Tour Players of the Month for February.

Farag claimed 59% of the votes on the poll on the PSA World Tour’s Instagram page, beating his fellow countrymen Mazen Hesham and Karim Abdel Gawad to the award.

El Sherbini received 52% of the votes, pipping her compatriot Amina Orfi and US No.2 Olivia Weaver to the prize.

World No.1 Farag continued his excellent form this season as he scooped the HSC 2024 Houston Men’s Squash Open and the Windy City Open 2024 Presented by the Walter Family titles during the month, maintaining his unbeaten start to 2024.

The triumph in Chicago was Farag’s fourth Platinum-level title of the season, as the 31-year-old overcame Abdulla Al Tamimi, Leonel Cardenas, Karim Abdel Gawad, Mazen Hesham and Paul Coll to secure the title.

Meanwhile El Sherbini has also made an unbeaten start to the year, with her triumph in the Windy City Open her third of this calendar year and her sixth of the season.

Like Farag, El Sherbini has won four Platinum crowns this season, and the defending World Champion defeated Rachel Arnold, Farida Mohamed, Sabrina Sobhy, Gina Kennedy and Nouran Gohar to lift her second Windy City Open.

Farag is in action next at the Optasia Championships while El Sherbini will feature at the GillenMarkets London Squash Classic.
