Crouin Up to Career Best of World No.8 in Latest PSA World Rankings

27 February 2023

France’s Victor Crouin has risen to a career best ranking of World No.8 following the publication of this week’s PSA World Rankings.

The 23-year-old, who yesterday won his second PSA World Tour Bronze title of the season with a 3-1 win over Mohamed ElSherbini in the Squash On Fire Open, climbed two places from 10th, leapfrogging Egyptian duo Mazen Hesham and Fares Dessouky, who both slipped a place each from eighth and ninth, respectively.

Elsewhere, the men’s top 20 is unchanged, with 21-year-old Mostafa Asal of Egypt entering his seventh successive week as World No.1, with Peru’s Diego Elias ranked second and Egypt’s Ali Farag third.

Outside of the top 20, ElSherbini, who was appearing in his first World Tour final since the 2020 Motor City Open, was rewarded with a nine-place jump in the rankings to career best World No.21.

Tsz Kwan Lau, meanwhile, has risen to a career high of World No.47, which sees him overtake Henry Leung to become Hong Kong No.1.

The biggest mover in this week’s rankings was USA’s Timothy Lasusa, who jumped 366 places in the rankings from World No. 703 to No.337.
